Is there anything more exciting than knowing that your girls’ holiday is just around the corner?
You’ve finished work for the week, and you’ve started to get into the holiday spirit. The only thing left to do is pack your suitcase. But don’t let this boring (albeit very necessary) job kill your buzz, we’re here to help to make packing your bag so quick and easy that you’ll be sitting poolside with a drink in your hand in no time!
To make sure you don’t forget any of the essentials or go over your luggage limit, the guys at MyBaggage.com have put together the ultimate guide to packing for a girl’s holiday. To make it even simpler we’ve also included a complete packing list that you can use for yourself.
So, get your suitcase out the cupboard and get ready – it’s time to get packing!
Firstly, let’s start with the boring but very important things you absolutely don’t want to forget.
Number one on the list is obviously your passport – you aren’t getting anywhere without that! But after that, there are other practical items that you need to make sure you have. Take any important documents for travel or your insurance; it’s best to print these off and have a copy with you.
You also need to make sure you’ve got money with you and it’s best to change this to the correct currency before you go, otherwise, you might find the exchange rate isn’t as good at the airport or abroad. It’s also a good idea to take a bank or credit card with you as a backup just in case you get stuck.
Next, you want to make sure you have your phone and charger, and the correct converter for the plug sockets depending on which country you’re visiting.
Of course, you’ll need to pack those all-important toiletries, sun cream if you’re going somewhere hot and you’re definitely going to need your toothbrush. If you take any important medication make sure you have enough to see you through and that you’ve got this to hand.
Preparing to look great
You’re going on a girl’s holiday and you want to look stylish all week! The best part about going away with your friends is that you can all swap clothes with one another if you get bored with your own wardrobe. But you also want to make sure you’ve got all the holiday essentials to see you through.
During the day you’re going to want comfortable and more casual outfits, especially if you plan to spend days exploring. Pack your favorite sandals and trainers to ensure you’ve got comfy shoes as well. Don’t overdo your packing, a few staple dresses, skirts, T-shirts and shorts will do depending on your preference. And perhaps some leggings or jeans for if it gets chillier.
If you know you’ll be spending your evenings out, whether having a delicious meal or dancing the night away, you’re going to want to take some of your most stylish evening staples. Co-ords are easy to throw together or alternatively pack your favorite LBD. Whatever you choose to take, it’s a good idea to plan three to four outfits ahead of time to avoid overpacking your suitcase.
Finally, you need to pack those all-important accessories. Hats and sunglasses are stylish and serve a practical purpose, so don’t forget to pack your faves. Bring with you a few of your favorite pieces of jewelry, choose those that are versatile and go with most, if not all, of your outfits.
Again, you don’t want to risk your suitcase being too heavy and resulting in extra charges. And lastly, you’ll want a good day bag and a smaller bag for the evening, perhaps a clutch or across the body bag.
Just for fun
This section is totally optional but can be a great addition to a girls holiday. If you’re going to be spending a lot of time poolside, why not pack a novelty inflatable (flamingos and unicorns are so in right now).
You might also want to pack some card or dice games that you can all play over a few drinks, either during the day or in the evenings. And of course, you can’t go wrong with a good book, whether you’re sunbathing or keeping yourself busy on the plane.
Then once you’ve finished your book, you and your friends can even swap so you only have to take one with you. If you’ve got any events planned, particularly concerts or festivals, take some glitter with you so all the girls can get slammed up and in the party mood.
The ultimate packing checklist
As we said above, we’ve put together a list to make your life much easier! You can use the packing checklist below to make sure you have everything you’re going to need for the perfect girls holiday:

Are you ready for your girls’ holiday?
Packing doesn’t have to be stressful. In fact, it can really help to get you in the mood for your holiday. Carefully plan a few outfits ahead of time so you can avoid overpacking.
It’s also a good idea to write yourself a checklist (or use the list we have put together for you in this guide) to ensure that you don’t forget any of the really important stuff like your passport, medication, money, phone or suncream.
